The Snowy Plover Project

We are on a quest to find tools, community, ideas and new patterns of living to realize a diverse, global mosaic of sustainable cultures in our lifetime. There are almost six billion of us now and none of us want to continue destroying our home planet. Making the necessary changes is the biggest challenge humanity has ever faced. Together, we can accomplish anything.

The snowy plover is a small awkward-looking shore bird that lives on the leading edge of North America, eating small creatures from the seafoam. It nests in open sand and is an endangered species. Snowy plovers achieve grace and beauty in numbers when they glide together, on their spindly legs, in and out with the waves. They make a wonderful mascot for this project.
